A Mixture of Works from us both.

The quilt Sue finished after 7 years all hand cut and sewn, double side. Originally for someone else but they had said not knowing that it was being made for them that their colours had now changed, that was just after the quilt was started.

A single Candle holder made from Bottle Brush finished with Danish Oil.

Two more Candle Holders both are Camphor Laurel. Turned from a branch and some bark at the base left as a foot. Its now law in Australia that candles should have a metal drip tray at the top. These have a metal cup insert only and are more for decoration then use.

Spoils of work done.

These two cake stands are off cuts from the Rosewood and Huon Pine three tier stands I did during this year. The Rosewood just keeps moving, twisting and cupping and then settles and starts all over again.

The Huon had tear out along one edge section it was filed with CA but also has two splits which had to be repaired. The foot is Australian Red Cedar.
These have been seconded by Sue.

Its Christmas and with Christmas comes a cooking of delicious Christmas treats by Sue.
Fruit Cakes, Mince Tarts, Short Bread and Ginger Bread Cookies. Usually a Ginger Bread House but the steamy humid weather would ruin it and make it soggy.

Just about done for Christmas, we have been busy.

Sue and I would like to wish all those who take the time to stop by and read our Blog a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fountian Pens & Roller Ball Pens.

A selection of Fountain and Roller Ball pens just to use the kits and material.

Majority of the kits are from 043turning.

While these acrylic matched pair are a Chrome Jnr Gent from Timberbits.

The acrylic blank was a special make from Bruce Sanders a master pen maker. He had made a blank he gave me back in 2009. A request for similar colour has been a tough job to reproduce.

Unfortunately the image on the blank did not come through in the turning, however I did cut that section off at 2mm thick.
Photo right by Bruce Sanders.

A False Ivory Roller Ball Baroness kit and Ivory supplied by 043turning

New Guinea Rosewood for these next four

This is an Unknown burl trying to capture the essence of the wood in a photo just couldn't be done.

Making pens is not without its problems at times, hassles with glues, timbers, tubes kits and finishes. Of all the pens I have made to date these making these have been the most frustrating of all. Weather has not been kind either.

Blended Dying

Dyed Alpaca for a collaborative project with Isabel I dyed it, card and spin it. Issy gets to knit it.

More photos when finished.

Baby Booties

Two pair white of baby booties for our neighbours sister's baby due in February.

The blue and white pair are for charity.

These are made so the baby can not kick them off.
