Spotted this load of old steel assortment on Facebook Market Place to many it was a box of old rubbish. One Mans Rubbish is Another Mans Gold mine."
The gears interested me the most as did a few other bits. Turns out in this lot was more than I'd hoped for.
The gears I'd hoped were Myford, sadly not.
Grind stones for use with a Die Grinder.
What appears to be rusty metal. Motor is dead for sure, machined bits well we'll see.
The makings of a grinder attachment either for a lathe or as a stand alone unit. Sadly the motor casing was not there.
Nice set of pulleys
This is obviously off a bit of machinery, turns out it is a sizeable bit of Bronze in part.
A solid block of steel used to clamp and mount to.
Yet more Bronze.
Now this has me stumped and it is bugging me as somewhere in my working life I've seen something like it before. Solid cast steel.
The casting and the shaft fit together like a glove, this is what I see being the makings of a grinder unit as can be seen below.
The complete collection of Die grinder wheels I'd hate to have to buy these at retail price.
These two threaded shafts are for a Bench Screw type Vice, used singularly or in tandem with a chain drive set up, known as a Twin Screw Bench Vice.
OR a geared set up
This single set up one is worth $450.
Below is one of the gears I was trying to teach myself the use of the Gear Vernier to find out the pitch etc of the gear.
This little home made grinder attachment might just work. Needs some serious modifications though.
Bit of unknown.
A Lathe threading dial indicator no idea what off yet??
Well for a grand total of $50 I don't think I did to bad.
