Ornamental Turning

Since 2007 I have been involved and passionate about Ornamental Turning as stated in the past. Although I no longer am a member of the OTGA (Ornamental Turners Group of Australia) I am a member of the Society of Ornamental Turners I also follow on Facebook Ornamental Turners International as well as the new and inspirational USA based organisation Plumier

Recently the SoT and Plumier members got together in a Zoom meeting to introduce the Plumier organisation.

The SoT has been hosting various meetings by members doing presentations of their equipment and methods of working with their machines the latest Tony Champion's most interesting presentation on his Rose Engine set up being the latest has struck a cord with me in particular.

Th various works produced by members as well as the machines manufactured and original machines restored is astounding. Ornamental Turning is not dead but thriving, once the likes of Kings, Queens and rich could only afford the equipment but since many have designed laymens machines making it affordable.

From the most exotic prestigious.
