On Going Project

With the bathroom Modifications being done I was making a Towel Rack and Shadow Box just simple carpentry,  slow progress due to weather, shoulder, other matters. It recently got sprayed using Cabots NFP hard wearing floor lacquer (final photo's to come when installed).
There was much hand planing and sanding etc.

Timber is Tasmanian Oak with a coat of Danish Oil prior spraying giving time to soak and dry.
Knobs are QLD Red Gum one side protruding more to hang stuff on such as cloths or dressing gown while showering.

I had to BUTT join two pieces to get the side width of the Towel rack. Also made a couple of door wedges and toilet roll back piece.
Sorry these photos are all in wrong order last is first.

This is just a sample of the boards not what was used the quilting in these boards caught my eye on purchase and will be used for another project.

Below 1st coat of Danish Oil applied.

Turning the Knobs on mass. Knobs fitted to both sides.

Above the Shadow cabinet the Red Gum plugs fitted over screws holding it together.

An old box becomes new use.
This box once housed some turning tools, to good to toss away if now houses my cheap router bit collection. The plastic box they were housed in broke, staring with locks then hinges then the lid cracked. All together on one place using the plastic formed inset from the old plastic box.

Rob a neighbour has a laser Engraver I got him to do a sample of a possible new logo for my works on spinning and weaving items made, he made the wooden disc and supplied the glass.
